James Ackerman – Chairman

James Ackerman currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Nashville-based Documentary Channel. Prior to joining, he served as the Chief Executive Officer (Interim) of ClickStar Inc; a company founded by actor Morgan Freeman’s Revelations Entertainment and Intel Corporation, leading this innovative movie download service through its launch phase. James Ackerman is a seasoned media and entertainment executive with worldwide experience in leading broadcast companies. Mr. Ackerman is Founder of Spinnaker Media LLC formed to develop media companies targeting the family consumer. Spinnaker Media holdings include Propeller Consulting (www.propellerconsulting.net) and Safe Browse (www.safebrowse.com).

Ackerman served as Chief Executive Officer of OpenTV Corp (NASDAQ). During his time with OpenTV (2000-04), Ackerman lead the company through a transition from a pure software vendor to a world-leading provider of advanced interactive television technologies, applications, and services. In addition, Ackerman saw the company through a change in control ownership and the acquisition and integration of two publicly traded competitors: Wink Communications and ACTV. Prior to his tenure at OpenTV, Ackerman was Chief Executive Officer, British Interactive Broadcasting where he was responsible for the launch of the world’s first comprehensive interactive television service allowing consumers to shop, play games, email and bank on their television sets as part of the Sky Digital satellite service (BSkyB).

Ackerman has also served as Managing Director of Sky Ventures, responsible for managing BSkyB’s portfolio of joint venture owned channels including Nickelodeon UK, Paramount Comedy Channel, QVC UK, The History Channel UK and The National Geographic Channel; Vice President International Business Development at A&E Television Networks resulting in the launch of The History Channel in the UK, Brazil and Spanish speaking Latin America; Vice President Program Development for Hearst Entertainment; Director of Original Programming, The Family Channel; and Account Supervisor, Grey Advertising. Today, Ackerman lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and two children. He is an active volunteer and partner with Prison Fellowship and The Salvation Army.

Dan Merrell - President

Dan Merrell who serves as the company’s President and a member of the Board, has vast experience as a senior marketing executive in the kids and family entertainment industry. In addition to overseeing all marketing, sales and retail distribution for Big Idea Productions, Dan has also served as a senior executive of Hit Entertainment, Lyrick Studios and Best Video Distributors.

Throughout his over twenty year career, Dan has been instrumental in the successful launch, distribution and sales of leading family entertainment brands such as film and video products VeggieTales, Bob the Builder, the Wiggles and Barney the Dinosaur resulting in over $1 billion in consumer sales collectively. Michael Hagerty – Board Director

Michael Hagerty is a Board Director of Propeller Consulting where he also serves as CFO & Company Secretary. Michael is a Co-Founder in Cedar Partners, which he and Ben formed in 2003. Prior to this, Michael was the CFO of Big Idea Productions.

For most of his career, Michael was an experienced and well-regarded financial manager for several music artists. In 1998, Michael launched an independent entertainment business management firm known as Curo Financial Management. His clients included Gloria and Emilio Estefan (for whom he managed the financial affairs of the Estefan Enterprises group of companies in Miami Beach), as well as the artist Shakira and a list of other Latin, Rock, Country, and Christian music artists. Previously, Michael was the CFO of Starstruck Entertainment, the group of companies owned by Reba McEntire.

Ben Howard – Board Director

Ben Howard is a Board Director of Propeller Consulting. Ben has over fifteen years of marketing and product development experience in the family entertainment sector. Ben is the Co-Founder of the media investment firm Cedar Partners, a shareholder in Propeller Consulting. In addition to his duties with Cedar, Ben is the Executive Producer of the upcoming feature film Second Chance, starring Christian music artist Michael W. Smith, to be released by Sony Pictures in early 2006.

During his seven year tenure, Ben was responsible for establishing the marketing department for Big Idea before overseeing the development and production of all music-related projects for the VeggieTales brand. Prior to this, Ben was with Reunion Records, where he held various senior marketing and distribution roles including Vice President of Marketing and Sales. During his time with Reunion Records, Ben was responsible for the release of Michael W. Smith’s “Change Your World” CD, which resulted in the highest chart debut up to that time of any Christian artist on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.
